How to File Complaint in SBI

SBI is one the most successful commercial bank of India. But nothing is perfect and they also have their own share of flaws. If you are a SBI account holder and need assistance in any of your queries, here are the steps to follow for smooth and simple process of your complaint.

As for the convince SBI has provided various platform for submitting your objection. Online, offline and over the call you can file your complaint on any of the medium to resolve your query ASAP.

Online Method

  • Go to SBI website, and then navigate to CMS panel.
  • Fill the required details like Customer Type, Account no., name of complaint, branch code(if other than Home branch), mobile no., e-mail, category of complaint, product and services, nature of complaint, brief detail (in case you want to give a description to your problem).
  • Then enter security Captcha. (To prove that you are not a bot) and click on Submit.
  • After the successful submission of your complaint form, they will provide a complaint number which you can use to track your status. This number will be also sent to given e-mail address and phone no. through SMS.
  • After that your query will be investigated and determined to within 7 working days. A message will also provided on your given contact details for the same.

Offline Method

  • Download the complaint form from the SBI customer care portal.
  • Fill all the mandatory details asked like Name, address of correspondence, e-mail, mobile no., if existing customer or not, account no./ ATM no., Branch, product or service about which you want to file your complaint, any brief description to provide a detailed version of your problem.
  • After that you can file this form to the respected branch.
  • Your query will take 7 working days for the resolution, you will receive the message on your given contact details for the same.

Other Options to Register Grievances

  • You can contact the SBI help desk by calling on the toll-free number 1-800-425-3800/ 1-800-11-22-11. You need to give your complaint number to know the information of your status.
  • You can send SMS by texting ‘UNHAPPY’ to 80008202020. Their customer care representative will call you for your queries against your complaint.
  • You can also approach the bank manager or official responsible for the complaint resolutions in the respected branch.
  • You can write a letter to the SBI Chairman at the below address-

It is advised to mount your application if you feel that your complaint has not been resolved.

If the matter still remains unsolved and you don’t hear anything within 30 days from their side, or you are not satisfied with resolution given by the bank, it is best to write directly to the Banking Ombudsman regarding your situation.

Banking Ombudsman Scheme 2006 introduced with the aim to enable a resolution against complaint related to specific services by banks, and to create possibility for a settlement between both parties to facilitate satisfaction.

Basically Banking Ombudsman is a senior officer appointed by RBI who re-investigates the consumer complaint as a result of no satisfaction from the certain banking services.

Lodge a Complaint with Banking Ombudsman

  1. Visit online portal of RBI complaint management system.
  2. Select Banking Ombudsman Office jurisdiction according to your area.
  3. Now fill details regarding Bank name, branch man, complaint number and mobile number.
  4. Fill the form with all the mandatory details and Click “Save”
  5. After the submission you can upload assisting documents by clicking on Upload button. You can give as much details as you want like complaint copy, replies of bank,date and times and other evidences which supports your case.

Once your application has been reviewed, you will get a resolution in 30 days. They can contact you in case of any explanation.
