The following are the Commercial Uses of the LPG Cylinder-
Refrigerant
LPG is a mixture of hydrocarbons which contains propane, butane, propylene, butylene, and isobutane. All these once separated from the LPG can be used for various purposes including using refrigerant or coolant.
Whether it’s coolant for cars or household AC, the hydrocarbons play an essential role in operating these machines. LPG Gas is the primary source hence, LPG Gas is used for manufacturing these items.
Fuel
LPG is an excellent source of energy that can be used to generate heat, and electricity, drive cars, cooking, etc. The application of LPG as fuel is wide due to its highly flammable nature. LPG is also a very clean fuel that does not release any harmful residue or gas hence, used a lot in households and restaurants for cooking.
Industry
Industry is also a heavy LPG Gas user which uses the LPG cylinder to produce a lot of products like food items, paper, car manufacturing, steel manufacturing, etc.
Heating
Heating is yet another important thing that is used everywhere to keep the temperature optimal for comfortable living. LPG cylinders can be a great source of heating and are used in houses, offices, restaurants, etc.

How to Apply for Commercial Cylinder?
The following are the steps you can follow to get a Commercial Cylinder for your business-
- Now to apply for commercial cylinder, there is no online process, you’ll have to contact your nearest LPG supplier and submit an application with filled information like the business’s name, contact information, and estimated monthly LPG usage
- Now, your application will be processed and you’ll have to wait for the approval
- Upon approval, you’ll receive the gas cylinder at your business address and you’ll have to pay for the cylinder
- You can then communicate with the supplier with the next cylinder delivery date and you can then exchange your empty cylinder for a new filled one.
Documents Required for Commercial Cylinder
The following are the documents required for Commercial Cylinder-
- Proof of identity such as driving license, Voter ID, PAN Card, passport, or Aadhaar Card.
- Proof of address such as ration card, passport, telephone bill, electricity bill, water bill, etc.
- Document for business operations like licenses, documents, etc.

The LPG commercial cylinders are available in two sizes, one with 19 Kg of gas and another one with 33 Kg of gas.
There is no strict shelf-life of the cylinder but you can find out about the cylinder’s testing date which happens to be written on the stay plates. For example- A-23 or C-22, etc. The letter symbolizes which quarter it belongs to like A- (Jan-Mar), B- (Apr-Jun), C- (Jul-Sep), and D-(Oct-Dec) and the number represents the year i.e., 23 for 2023 and 22 for 2022.
You do not need to dispose of your empty cylinder just return it to the LPG Supplier and receive the new cylinder. The cost that you’ll pay for the gas is only for the gas and not for the cylinder which is why, you’ll have to deposit some money with the gas agency to begin your LPG subscription.
No, there is no subsidy for LPG Cylinder which is to be used for commercial purposes. LPG Subsidy is only provided to household connections and you have an option to give up LPG Subsidy as well.
