How to Connect Voter’s ID Card with your Aadhaar Card?

The Election Commission of India which organizes the world’s largest voting process asked the voters to link their Aadhaar Card with their Voter’s Card.

In 2021, the Government of India introduced electoral reforms by amending the Representation of the People Act, of 1950 and the Representation of the People Act, of 1951.

Under this reform, the Linking of Aadhaar and Voter’s ID has been introduced, and other changes like the qualifying date of enrolment in the electoral roll have been changed from one data, i.e. 1 January to four dates i.e. January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.

This gives young voters much better exposure to the voting process by allowing them to vote instead of waiting for one whole year.

The government hasn’t floated any deadline for connecting the voter’s ID with your Aadhaar card however, as a best practice, you should connect your Aadhaar card with the Voter’s ID card.

This amendment aims to confirm the identity of a person, validate entries in the electoral roll, authenticate the identity of voters, and check whether someone is registered in the same constituency more than once or multiple constituencies.

Here, are the step-by-step instructions to connect your Aadhaar card with your Voter’s ID card.
